Educational Notes

During January and February 2006, I participated in a teaching initiative of the Schlumberger Excellence in Educational Development (SEED) program. The goal was to coach a small group of teenagers in doing a physics project related to oil field services. The results of this mutual learning experience (the kids taught me French & I taught them magnetic exploration) were proudly presented by my group at the yearly science fair "Bouge la Science" at Supelec:

La Prospection Magnétique dans la Salle de Classe (poster)

As an introduction to the subject, I wrote the

Magnetic Exploration Guide for Pupils

To download the guide, click here (PDF). The guide does not assume any previous knowledge on magnetism. However, it is useful to understand the difference between a vector and a scalar.

I recommend checking out Vernier Software & Technology.
